About Smokehouse Foundation

Smokehouse Foundation was founded in 2020 to promote the cultural, social, physical, and economic health of all peoples facing issues of remoteness, capacity barriers, or systemic marginalization. In 2022 Smokehouse Foundation received its status as a registered charity.

At the core of Smokehouse Foundation’s philosophy is building relationships with communities and following the direction of the communities that we service. We believe that local knowledge and trust should guide all of the projects that the foundation undertakes. To enact this philosophy, we take the time to build relationships with the community; employ members of the community in key roles in programming within their community; and give the community a large degree of autonomy with decision making for programming.

A healthy, prosperous, and self-determined future for all, inspired by a community perspective.
